My Technics

So how do I draw my portraits?

 A good quality photograph

is imperative.

I can only draw what I see.

Once a photograph is chosen I draw the whole outer subject centred to the correct position of the page, followed by eyes, nose and mouth.

I work from left to right to avoid smudging and my pencil is my ruler for perfect balance. Shading is key to create a stunning piece of works.

What medium do I use?

Textured, White Watercolour Paper acid free 300gsm,  40.5 x 30.5

with mount 30 x 20

Derwent Graphic pencils

9B -H

Once drawing is finalised the portrait is sprayed with Winsor & Newton Professional Fixative to prevent smudge and fade.

Frames are black, white or wood effect. Others can be arranged at request.
